You might think it's strange to consider selling a home you don't even own yet, but what if you decide to move? These days, it is not uncommon for an individual to buy and sell five homes or more in their lifetime.  Buying a home with good resale value might take a little longer, and it might take a bit more work, but you'll love the payback later, when it sells quickly and puts extra money in your bank account.

We can help you to determine not only how desirable a neighbourhood is, but how desirable it will be in coming years.

A desirable area will:

  • Be Safe ~ Safety is a given.
  • Be Near Schools ~ Even if you don't have children the quality of the nearest schools will almost certainly be an important factor for potential buyers when you try to sell the home.
  • Possess a good mixture of Residential and Commercial Districts nearby ~ The ideal neighbourhood will represent the best of worlds, offering residents both privacy and convenience.
  • Demonstrate consistent economic stability and growth ~ Are there plenty of services? (groceries, shopping, employment) in that area?  Is there easy access to public transportation and main roadways.
  • Property Taxes ~ can also be a deciding factor for potential homebuyers as many avoid properties subject to higher tax payments.

The bottom line is your first objective is to buy a home that's right for you, but do consider its resale value before you make the final decision, especially if you know you'll move again within three to five years. A careful purchase now will help give you extra funds to move up with the next time you buy a home.
